Oktoberfest in Downtown Napa

Grab your lederhosen and head to Downtown Napa for the first annual Oktoberfest on Sunday, September 19th from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Located on 1st Street, guests can enjoy live German music and festivities, authentic food (yes, that means bratwursts and strudel!), and of course, a beer garden with a number of beers to enjoy. Gather together with friends and family to enjoy tasty food, refreshing beer, dancing and music.

You can do the Schunklen to German folk music, Tubas At Large, a mass tuba and euphonium concert and avoid the hassle of parking by using the free valet bike parking courtesy of Napa Bike. All proceeds from the concert will be put towards the Music Connection, a local program serving the musical needs of students in Napa County.

The traditional event is annually held in Munich, Germany and this year will mark the 182nd anniversary.  Curious as to why Oktoberfest is held in September? Traditionally, the celebration begins the third week of September and concludes the first Sunday of October. The festivities have greatly evolved from its historical origins, but modern celebrations typically include an abundant amount of local and imported beer, traditional German cuisine and folk music. Additionally, current events are also family friendly- providing activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Join the festivities of this popular German holiday and transform your visit into a weekend getaway. Check in to a local hotel or B&B simply within walking distance from the Oktoberfest venue.
